Ticks: Importance & Management

Ticks continue to be a major medical threat and nuisance throughout the United States.  Species of ticks are expanding their territory and increasing in numbers.  Along with this, several newer diseases have been linked to various tick species, increasing the risk of tick-borne diseases.  This talk will provide you with background knowledge on the identification of ticks in the Mid-Atlantic region, which diseases they carry, how to survey for them, and management practices.
