Spotted Lantern Fly - August 2025
Pest of the Month - Sponsored by Zoecon Professional Products
The Spotted Lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula) is an invasive species that has recently emerged in the United States, likely arriving on goods shipped from overseas. The spotted lanternfly is a planthopper that isn’t harmful to humans but can cause devastating damage to the fruit and forest industries, especially grapevines, fruit orchards and hardwood forests. These insects feed on the plants, leaving behind a sticky, oozing residue called honeydew that can attract other insects and cause mold growth.
Precor® Outdoor F-T-M from Zoëcon Professional Products serves as an effective solution for treating against this invasive species. This micro-encapsulated formulation combines the adulticidal power of tau-fluvalinate with the long-lasting control of (S)-methoprene, our pioneering insect growth regulator (IGR) technology. In addition to Spotted Lanternflies, Precor® Outdoor F-T-M effectively targets fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and a broad spectrum of labeled pests outdoors, with application approval in turf and ornamental settings.
