The MSPCA Interstate Pest Management Conference, held January 29–30 in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, proved both resilient and impactful in the face of challenging winter weather. Despite a significant snowstorm that blanketed the region in what many attendees dubbed “snow-crete”—a heavy, glaze-like accumulation of snow and ice—the event successfully brought together nearly 700 pest management professionals (PMPs) for two days of education and training.

While hazardous travel conditions prevented approximately 50 registered participants from attending in person, the overall turnout remained strong. Those who were unable to make the journey were not left behind; MSPCA ensured their continuing education needs were met by transferring their registrations to the upcoming Last Chance Webinar scheduled for May 28th. If you were one of those 50 folks, we look forward to seeing you virtually at the end of next month.

The conference delivered a robust lineup of sessions focused on industry best practices, regulatory updates, and emerging trends, helping attendees earn valuable CEUs and stay current in a rapidly evolving field. The dedication of both organizers and participants underscored the importance of ongoing professional development—even when faced with less-than-ideal conditions. The IPMC even boasted a warm and full exhibit hall featuring the products and services of our Vendor partners.

This year, in addition to the high quality technical training the IPMC is well known for, a Business Building Blocks track was included that provided attendees with business building strategies on Growing People to Grow Business, Un-bugging Budgets, Hidden Sales Waiting Inside Existing Customers and Practical Foundations for Building a Durable Small Business. 

In the end, the 2026 conference stood as a testament to the pest management community’s commitment to education, adaptability, and service, no matter what the weather brings. Be sure to put the MSPCA IPMC on your 2027 calendar for January 27th and 28th.
